A useful tool to test whether your site or page is blocked by the GFW

I will introduce a useful tool to test whether your site or page is blocked by the Great Fire Wall of China, please click here to have a try. You can input the URL of your page into the box, and select a Chinese location (including Hong Kong) and a non-Chinese location such as Seattle, U.S., and then click the button Perform Test. Wait for a minute and the test result will show up, telling you whether your site & page is blocked by the GFW. Take my blog as the example, I input the URL of my blog http://amoiist.blogspot.com/ and select Beijing as the Chinese location and Seattle as the non-Chinese location, and the test result is shown as follow:

We can see from this picture (click the piture to see more clearly, pay attention to the box of Status, which indicats "couldn't connect to the host in the left, "OK" in the right) that blogspot.com was blocked in Beijing, but not blocked in Seattle. And then I tried Hong Kong and Seattle, it's not blocked in these locations as shown in the following figure:

Blogspot is not blocked in other countries like Germany and Australia. This testing page is useful and interesting, so your can have a try to test your site or page. Wish you good luck! Furethermore, this site provides a Firefox extension which monitors the real-time status of your servers, websites and web applications (see the left side of the page).
